If you've read some of my previous posts, I've touched on this subject a few times. I have the 60 GB Video IPod and cannot say enough about it. It sounds fantastic through a home stereo or car stereo. The recent addition of gapless playback took care of my only complaint with the player. In my opionion, mp3 players were developed with Heads in mind, especially those who remember having to lug suitcases of tapes around and waiting forever for copying, rewinding, fast forwarding, etc. Not only will your friend love you forever, you'll love yourself (not in the Pee Wee Herman way of course). Great Sound, Great Functionality, Great Portability. Along with the player, I'd also throw in some form of adapter for car audio, be it through the cassette or an FM Transmitter.
